50th Wedding Anniversary

Months of prep work came to fruition last week.  The Felton Clan along with Mom and Dad's best friends, Joe and Kathryn, met in Gatlinburg to celebrate Howard and Evelyn's 50th Wedding Anniversary.  No stone was left unturned.  We had a beautiful cabin over looking the Great Smokey Mountains.  A LOT of good food, good laughs, and good times.  This is just a sample of photos!  We had a professional photographer come.  We will be posting those photos when we get them.

To the Farm!

Of course we had lunch on Monday with Johnny.

Johnny, Sue Joyce, me, Doris (Uncle Joe wasn't able to come.)

Dan and Pa taking a dip in the new pool.

Check this out.  This is an Alligator Snapping Turtle.  They are on the endangered species list.  Mama and Daddy have them in the Lake and Cat Fish Hole.  Dan found this baby.  He's about 2 inches wide and 3 inches long.  Isn't he cute?  We named him Jimmy Johnson.

Dan trapped himself.

Dan and I went out to eat with Vivi and Michael to Kabuto.  Michael and I convinced them it was Vivi's B-day.  We laughed so hard.  Vivian kept trying to tell them it was not her birthday. She got a balloon.  And had to do a birthday dance.

Vivi doing her dance.  She was a good sport.

Wild turkeys on the farm.

I was home for a week which gave me time to get Le ready for Boy Scout Camp.  Daniel and I went to the farm to see Mama and Daddy.  We were supposed to come home for a couple of days before heading to Gatlinburg for Mom and Dad's 50th wedding anniversary but we decided to just stay at the farm.  This kept us from driving back and forth but kept us away from home for two weeks.  I will divide these post into two separate post.

Me and BFF

Who knew middle-aged women could have so much fun?  I'm going to TRY and condense this long story to fit the blogspot.  This spring at the Reef Cup Girls Club Meeting, Barbara asked what my husband, Sandy, does for a living.  Paula replied, "He makes belts for chicken."  The conversation continues.  Approx. 10 minutes later Barbara ask, "Why do chickens need belts?"  We all fall out laughing hysterically.  So began the saga of dressing chickens. So...fast forward to the RI Chapter Reef Cup Girls Meeting.  Barbara shows up with a chicken with a wig and belt on.  We have named him Benny Reefcup.  He has a Facebook page.  (Be sure to friend him.)  He will be traveling with each RC girl for a month.  At the end of the month we have to redress him and send him to the next member.

My "Business" Trip Continues

My business trip had a lot of first. My first time flying into NYC by myself.  My first taxi ride by myself.  My first train ride EVER. (Except for Thomas The Tank Engine which I would assume doesn't count...)  After spending a couple of days helping Scott I took the train to Providence and spent the weekend with Len and Jaye.  Somehow I packed a WEEK of fun into one short weekend.  I was missing my family and felt guilty being there without them but I had a blast.

Anne hosted the RI chapter of the Reef Cup Girls Club Meeting (Which will get a posting of it's own.)
 Missing members: Yancey and Leo
I don't know why but I always take a picture of the table.  This is Ann's feast.

Mom......Jeff is not coming home tonight!
Deep thought from Dandy..."It's two am.  You are sitting in the entry hall.  Just go to bed already!"
Jaye's table at the pool house. This was such a fun night.  A very eclectic group of people.  When Sandy found out who was coming he asked Len who was going to be the listener!
All of the many corn Accessories I have given Jaye over the years.  Also known as my inheritance.
Ann, John, Gigi, Len, and Jaye
 Gigi feeling the love.
 Me with Ann and John.

My schedule went something like this......Arrive late afternoon.  Dinner at pool house with Stephen Chace's and Len and Jaye.  Morning trip to Little Compton to Church fair.  I attended the auction there which I LOVE!  I bought a child's desk which is now stored in Len and Jaye's barn until our next trip up so I can bring it home.  It will go in our conservatory.  Lunch with Len and Jaye and the Mancini's.  Visit with Uncle Ira and Aunt Midge.  Reef Cup Girls Club Meeting. Sunday visit with Len and Jaye.  Visit with Mrs. Marks.  Visit with Anne.  Trip down to shore with Reef Cup Girls. Dinner with Ann Smith, John Stobart and Mrs. Carlson.  Monday AM. Fly home.  And sleep for 5hrs.....

My "Business" Trip To New York City

Outside of Lincoln Center with Tobias, his young bride Virginia, and Scott.
Angelia and me at the Atlantic Grill.

Our very dear friend Scott just moved into a new apartment in NYC and I have been helping him put it together.  We have had many consults via email, phone, and photo.  Scott flew me up for a couple of days to put the finishing touches on everything.  I can't express how much fun I had.  It was the perfect mix of work and fun.  Scott was such a good sport about everything.  He took time off from work not only to do his stuff but to take me all over the garment district.  One of the highlights of my visit was running the reservoir in Central Park.  Scott has such a love for "his city".  His entheusiasm can't help but rub off.  I look forward to going back with Sandy and the boys soon.

The White Family Comes to SC

Since Alex had his orientation at UT Chattanooga last week, The Whites decided to drive on over to Greenville for a visit.  Sandy and the boys were in Williamsburg with Scott and the girls.  I was worried they might be bored with just me but we had a very nice relaxing time.  As usual I was sad to see them go.

I like this photo of Michael.  He was taking a power nap.
